Campus Fibre Upgrade

Recently Coherent Systems were involved in a Campus Fibre Upgrade in one of Australia's largest Telco's Facility.

Our Client was looking to achieve the highest capacity of fibres between 2 buildings without compromising rack space. We were able to achieve this by using 1728 Fibres Rollable Ribbon Cable spliced onto MTP connecters.

IT Infrastructure Relocation Project

Project Mod 11 & 12 Exit

Coherent Systems involvement in relocating 195 racks full of equipment from two rooms into one room - Audit over 836 devices - Pre-lay cabling for those devices into new positions - perform after hours migration of 2-4 devices a night - involving de-racking equipment from old location to new location and connecting the pre-laid cables.

This is recognises success for the whole team for the achievement of migrating/moving/decomming all infrastructure to clear Mod 12 and Mod 11, on time and without any applications impact. Well done to all involved in achieving this outstanding success.

Below are some stats of the project:

Internet Protocol Storage Area Network (IP-SAN) Project Migration/Integration

Consolidate 16 end of life core switches into 6 new Cisco Nexus 7k's.

The Internet Protocol Storage Area Network (IP-SAN) project team has successfully life cycled 16 core and distribution networks that were host to 40+ business critical applications.

The networks had reached their end of life and were no longer supportable creating storage access risks for thousands of servers.

In reducing 16 network devices to six core switches, the project team significantly reduced operational risk, cost and complexity.

The team was able to simplify the environment by providing fewer network connections but with higher bandwidth. This includes connectivity of 10 or even 40 gigabits whereas former physical hosts had only one gigabit of connectivity. The increased connectivity also reduces the risk of performance issues which occurred when a 1 gigabit link was congested.

The team executed over 395 complex high risk changes across three strategic data centres over a 20-month period. This involved laying down around 1600+ fibre-optic cables totalling $2.85 million with utmost precision. This was completed without causing a single outage whilst achieving a 98.9% change success rate.
